M's Fiction Universe - Book Blog

Hello my bookworms!

As book lovers, we all know the joy and excitement of getting lost in a good story.

However, with the busy and fast-paced lives we lead, finding the time to read can be a challenge.

This is where audiobooks come in! Audiobooks allow you to enjoy your favorite stories while on the go, making it easier than ever to fit reading into your busy schedule.

In this post, we’ll explore the benefits of audiobooks and why they are a great addition to any book lover's reading routine.

Convenience

One of the biggest benefits of audiobooks is their convenience.
With audiobooks, you can listen to your favorite books anytime and anywhere.

Whether you're commuting to work, running errands, or doing chores around the house, you can listen to an audiobook and still get lost in a great story.

You don't have to worry about carrying around a heavy book or finding a quiet place to read.

All you need is a pair of headphones and your phone or tablet.

Multitasking

Another great benefit of audiobooks is that they allow you to multitask.

You can listen to an audiobook while doing other activities like exercising, cooking, or even working.

This means that you can make the most of your time and get things done while still enjoying a great book.

You can also listen to audiobooks while traveling, which is perfect for long flights or road trips.

Improve listening skills

Listening to audiobooks can also help improve your listening skills.

Since audiobooks require you to focus on what is being said, they can help train your brain to become a better listener.

This skill can also be applied to other areas of your life, such as work or personal relationships.

Variety of options

Audiobooks also offer a variety of options when it comes to choosing what to listen to.

You can listen to classics, bestsellers, biographies, and more. There are also different genres to choose from, including romance, mystery, science fiction, and self-help.

Audiobooks also offer a range of narrators, which can add an extra layer of enjoyment to your listening experience.

Accessible for everyone

Finally, audiobooks are accessible for everyone. They are perfect for people who have difficulty reading due to vision problems, dyslexia, or other disabilities.

Audiobooks can also be a great option for people who are learning a new language or want to improve their language skills.

Hello, my bookworms!

Hands up if you are just like me who scroll down on Wattpad to look for good mafia books.

Mafia theme books are gritty, action-packed, and give you a glimpse into the world of organized crime.

We can find not only tales of family loyalty but also tales of betrayal and revenge in these novels.

Not to forget that those are mafia books, meaning violent and mature scenes are unavoidable.

Here are the top 10 must-read mafia books on Wattpad.

A couple of books in this list are Yakuza novels actually because I am sure you will love them too.

Also note that I am just listing the books randomly.

(Disclaimer: The status, title, cover, and link of free novels on book platforms such as Wattpad and Inkitt are subject to change based on the author.)

1.       Diavolo by T.A. Fan

This mafia novel is the epitome of mafia-themed books on Wattpad in my opinion.

It is a mafia romance whereas a female doctor who was facing hardships in her life due to her father's condition, had to save a handsome stranger in the dead of night.

Thanks to the man (or shall we call him a devil?), her entire life was altered after that eventful encounter.

2.       Omerta by Katarina E. Tonks

This book tells the story of the hitman of a mafia organization and his neighbor, the girl from an elite family associated with the sworn enemy of his boss.

It's a beautifully portrayed and well-crafted story that explores the themes of loyalty, family, and revenge.

3.       Luciano by Taintedkissesxo

The story tells the life of the Luciano family and their power in the mafia world.

The novel is a great read for fans of books which have mob boss male lead and assassin second male lead or anyone interested in the inner workings of organized crime.

4.       The Devil’s Angel by Signorina Anon

This is an intense mafia romance novel which follows Vincenzo, a mafia boss who eliminated his own father, the former mob boss, and other mafia bosses at the age of sixteen to protect his angel, Juliet.

5.       My Akuma by Signorina Anon

This book is not really a mafia novel but a Yakuza novel but I am sure mafia book lovers will love this story too.

This novel tells the story of Ryu, a young man who became a borderline sociopath and psychopath due to his training to become a killing machine for Yakuza, and his love for his childhood sweetheart, Aria.

6.       Playing with Fire by Signorina Anon

Another masterpiece by Signorina Anon.

The Yakuza novel portrayed the love story between Koan, the youngest son of a Yakuza family who cannot feel any physical pain, and Elle, a nurse whose father and brother are detectives.

7.       Bambola by Lila Aurora

This is a dark romance mafia-themed novel.

It tells the story of a heartless and emotionless mafia boss and a girl with daddy issues who falls in the clutches of him.

8.       His Caged Dove by Skylar Pisatel

This heartbreaking mafia novel shows the life of a girl born in a mafia family who was severely abused by her father and her fiancé but saved by another powerful mob boss through an unplanned marriage.

9.       I Am Not a Prostitute by Alekseixx

This story tells the life of a girl who was mistaken as a prostitute, kidnapped and sold into the mafia where she caught the eye of the first in command of the Russian mafia.

10.   Beautiful Trauma by Angie Ang C

This novel follows the two lovers who were separated forcefully in their teenage years but met again by fate after 10 years as a cold and brutal mafia don and a doctor with a traumatic past.

There you have it, the top 10 must-read mafia books on Wattpad.

These books are sure to satisfy your craving for a thrilling read and give you a glimpse into the world of organized crime.

Happy reading!

With love,

Mora

Hello my bookworms!

If you're looking for a love story set in World War II, look no further than Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres.

This novel is set on the beautiful Greek island of Cephalonia during World War II, and tells the story of the island's inhabitants and the Italian soldiers who occupy it.

It is a highly regarded novel that has received critical acclaim and has a large following of devoted readers.

Summary

Pelagia, a headstrong and intelligent young woman lived on Cephalonia with her father, Dr. Iannis, a respected physician and intellectual.

Pelagia was engaged to Mandras, a local fisherman. However, their relationship was interrupted by the outbreak of war.

When the Italian army invaded Cephalonia, Pelagia and her father were forced to accommodate Captain Antonio Corelli and his company of soldiers in their home.

Despite their initial animosity towards the Italian soldiers, Pelagia and Corelli begin to develop feelings for each other.

Their romance was complicated by the ongoing war, the fact that they were on opposite sides of the conflict, and the most obvious one, Pelagia being engaged to another man.

Suitable Audience

This novel will appeal to readers who enjoy historical fiction, romance, and literary fiction.

It is a complex and emotionally engaging novel that will resonate with readers who are interested in exploring the impact of war on individuals and societies.

Those who appreciate beautiful and evocative writing will also enjoy this story.

However, due to some mature themes and scenes of violence, this novel may not be suitable for all readers.

Read Book Review: Catching Genesis by Nicole Riddley

My Thoughts

I like the way the novel's plot explores themes such as love, loss, sacrifice, and the impact of war on individuals and communities.

The story is divided into several parts, each of which focuses on different characters and their experiences.

The romance between Pelagia and Captain Corelli is beautiful yet bittersweet due to their differing allegiances and the ongoing war.

Read Book Review: The Lotus Keeper by Leeann Mays

Pelagia is a character who is both courageous and vulnerable, and her experiences throughout the novel allow her to grow and develop in significant ways.

Whereas Captain Corelli is a gentle soul despite being an army officer. He is a kind, charming, and sympathetic character with a great love of music.

De Bernieres' writing style is both poetic and humorous.

He skillfully weaves together a cast of characters who are both complex and endearing.

He also captures the beauty and idiosyncrasies of Greek island life in a way that will transport you there.

His writing is also marked by a sharp wit and sense of humor that adds a lightheartedness to the novel's more serious themes.

De Bernieres' use of multiple narrators and his ability to create fully realized and emotionally engaging characters are also notable aspects of his writing style.

Overall, Captain Corelli's Mandolin is a truly unforgettable novel that will leave you both laughing and crying.

So, curl up with a cup of tea and immerse yourself in this epic love story!

Mora

Hello my bookworms!

Let’s talk about classics today!

I am sure you know the author, Elizabeth Gaskell. In fact, she is the creator of the famous novel, Wives and Daughters.

But this novel, North and South, which I am reviewing is less well-known than the other one.

North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell is a classic novel that offers a look at the social and economic divides of Victorian England.

Title: North and South
Author: Elizabeth Gaskell
Genre: Classic

Platform: Amazon

Read Book Review: Declan by Melissa White

Summary

The story centers around Margaret Hale, a young woman from the south of England who was forced to move to the industrial north with her family.

There, she was confronted with the harsh realities of life for the working class, as well as the tensions between the workers and the wealthy mill owners.

She also experienced a complicated love life with a man named John Thornton.

Along the way, she learnt to navigate these complex social and economic dynamics as well as her love/hate relationship with the man and found her own place in the world.

Read Book Review: Diavolo by T. A. Fan

Suitable Audience

Suitable for readers who are interested in class relationships, racial relationships and the industrial revolution, North and South offers a unique perspective on the Victorian era and the issues that continue to resonate with us today.

My Thoughts

I find North and South to be a complex and multi-layered story.

The novel explores not just the relationship between the two main characters, Margaret and John, but also their relationships with others in their society such as family, friends, and the working class.

I appreciated how the book addressed social issues such as class, race, religion, and industrialization.

Read Book Review: Rebecca by Daphne du Marie

I also enjoyed seeing how the characters learned from each other and made changes in their relationships.

However, I did have some issues with the book's transitions and wished for a more detailed epilogue.

But there is no doubt that North and South is a memorable work of Elizabeth Gaskell.

With love,

Mora
