I found a hidden gem. . . a wonderful epic time travel novel. . . on Inkitt!

Summary

Alice Edwards is a cop in 21st century NYC until one day she's shot by a culprit her team had been tracking down and wakes up with a completely different face and body, in a completely different era or rather world.

In this new world, she is known as Lady Helena, the second wife of Emperor Hanes.

As she tries to navigate this new life and adapt to the cold and ruthless nature of her new husband, Alice realizes that she is actually living in a book which her boyfriend from 21^st century wrote, and that Hanes is the villain.

Suitable Audience

Married to the Villain will appeal to you if you enjoy romance, time-travel, and political intrigue.

But, due to some mature themes and scenes of violence, this novel may not be suitable for you if you’re underage.

My Thoughts

I love everything about this book – the plot, the characters, and the writing style.

The author created her story in the backdrop of assassinations, wars between kingdoms and bloodthirsty struggles for power.

Alice and Lady Helena are so different in both appearance and personality that reading Alice in Lady Helena’s body is totally awkward and hilarious.

Though Hanes is portrayed as an Emperor with his stunning good looks, pure royal blood lineage, intelligence- and unparalleled cruelty and mercilessness, I feel really sorry for him as the story unfolds.

Vincen, is the son of a very powerful minister in Hanes' court, good looking and noble male lead of the book Alice is in.

Alice’s boyfriend from 21^st century, Vincent, created this Vincen character based on himself.

It’s heartwarming to feel Vincen’s love for Lady Helena/Alice through the book.   

The portrayal of the jealousy and bitterness of Empress Carlana, Hanes's first wife who is the daughter of Henes’s mentor, a powerful minister, is flawless.

It’s quite satisfying to read the scenes where Hanes frankly shows the fact that he only sees her as a younger sister although she is deeply in love with him.

The other characters in the story such as the various ministers and advisors, and Lady Helena’s siblings are also well-crafted and add depth to the world-building.

Coko Rose's writing style is one of a kind.

Her use of multiple narrators adds an extra layer of depth to the story, allowing readers to see events from different perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the characters' motivations and feelings.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an engaging and immersive read that will last in their memory for a long time.

My Thoughts

It all started when Ronan's father married Mina's mom when they were young.

Though Ronan is the ruthless new don of the mafia, he is not a womanizer which is typical for a mafia don in most novels.

Mina is portrayed as a stubborn yet gentle young woman who stole Ronan’s heart.

I like the fact that the attraction between these two never diminishes even after their long-term separation.

I’ve crowned M L Smith as a queen of erotica on Inkitt after reading one of her books for the first time.

She includes a perfect blend of swoon, action, spice, and violence in all her books.

Have a taste of this book and you will be left hot and bothered after tasting her spicy creativity.  

Would you like to have a good laugh while reading a historical novel?

Look no further than Storm and Silence by Robert Thier, a historical fiction novel set in Victorian England.

The novel has gained popularity for its witty dialogue, strong and independent female protagonist, and the slow-burning romance between Lilly and Mr. Ambrose.

Let’s talk about College New Adult Romance today.

The book I will be reviewing is one of the sensational novels on Wattpad and now a popular published book.

Guess what? Yes! It’s ‘Chasing Red' by Isabelle Ronin.

The story also has a squeal titled ‘Always Red’.

Summary

Chasing Red follows the story of Caleb and Veronica, two people who seem to have nothing in common, but are drawn together by an intense attraction.

Caleb is a brooding bad boy who doesn't do relationships, while Veronica is a sweet and innocent college student who is looking for love.
